Siempre Caminando

If there's one thing MC and I like, it's our explorations. I'd say about 50% of the time we leave the house we shout to Cristina, "Vamos a explorar mas!" and she always laughs. But its true! Last night we went out to find a coffee shop that could be "our place"... but it was pouring rain so we settled for the place right next door to read, where I finished an entire traveler's guide through Spain (stocking present) front to back. But to make up for a lost adventure yesterday we went on a little mission to find cute hotels/bed and breakfasts for our families to stay in when they visit. Well obviously we got lost, but it landed us in such a quiet, unique (as if everything isn't unique here) part of town--

found this little oasis of an orange garden in the middle of nowhere

found some super tiny streets with cute houses

found a mob of Asians in the tiny streets (chinititos as Cristina would most definitely say)

pretty sure we found some of the gardens of las Reales Alcazares

made our way back to civilization and the route we know how to get home, landmarked by the fountain. Photo cred goes to MC for all of these.

Soooo we like to walk...but so does Cristina, as we found out on Saturday. Over the weekend we went on a long walk with her where she gave us a tour of all of Nervion (our neighborhood), AKA where her kids went to school, her church, the mall, her favorite stores, the stores that are new, the public pool...the works. She took us in to the public pool facility to show us around (?) and boy did she seem like she owned the place. She even had us go in to the room with the sauna, I'm guessing to inform us as to what one was. Hey girl we have those in America, and we also have microwaves (so you don't have to show me how put hot chocolate in and take it out anymore). No but seriously, I love this woman. She's so sweet, I just say some things to tick her off sometimes (whoops). Like today when she talked about her favorite vegetables or something, and she mentioned tomatoes...I said "well you know, tomatoes are fruits." And that was the end of happy lunch conversation. It was all defense-mode from then on. I'm gonna steer clear from confrontation (and maybe pepper at the table) for a while.

The locker room tour...we were cracking up

Rewarded for our walk with gelato... our little famil-ita
