Around the World and Back Again

Well, not really. Not even close. But I have been traveling around Europe for the past 5 months and I can safely say I've caught the travel bug. I titled my last post after returning home "Around the World and Back Again" but then, after deciding to continue my blog at home, I figured the title would work as a home page. There are so many things I've learned during my travels that I want to keep with me as I enter my last year of college. Maybe if I journal it, I'll have more of a shot at doing that. My first order of business is buying a bike and not just using it for casual ride around the neighborhood, but actually replacing my regular car-use with bicycle rides instead. My second order of business is aiming to stay relaxed, and making sure that every single day I do something for me and me alone, that makes me happy, and that doesn't fall under the category of "being productive," "resume building," "making money," or "fulfilling obligations." Spain, where I lived, has the 15th highest life expectancy in the world. The U.S. ranks 53rd. While I don't always agree with the lifestyle of Spaniards, there is something to say about how they lead their lives, with day-to-day enjoyment high on their list of priorities. This is something I'm trying to incorporate- and keep incorporated- into my own life. Whether it be finding a great recipe and attempting it, doing something out of the ordinary with my roommates in our new house (there's 7 of us, so we're bound to have some stories to tell), searching out a new yoga studio and trying a new class, or staying in to watch New Girl, I'll be sharing it through this outlet, as a means to keep me grounded in my constant search to find balance within my life. After all, practice makes practice.
